Dr. Stephanie von Spreter is an art historian, researcher, and curator based in Oslo, specializing in contemporary art, photography, and Arctic visual cultures.

Her research focuses on the intersection of environmental humanities, decolonial methodologies, and feminist art history. She has published extensively on contemporary Nordic and circumpolar art, photography theory, and ecological aesthetics in leading academic journals and edited volumes.

Stephanie has curated exhibitions at major international venues including Fotogalleriet Oslo, the Venice Biennale, and the Berlin Biennale. She has held research and teaching positions at universities across Europe and serves as an advisor to museums, art institutions, and private collectors.

She holds a PhD in Art History from Humboldt University Berlin and has been a visiting scholar at institutions including the University of Copenhagen, the Arctic University of Norway, and Goldsmiths, University of London.
